This Oberflacht Lyre is a 6 string lyre, played by plucking or strumming the strings.

It is a design based on an archaeological find from 7th centuary Germany, in the Oberflacht region.

The body of the instrument is oak with a Lime wood sound board.

The pegs and bridge are made from Yew wood and the strings are nylon.
