Glastonbury Frost Fayre 2023

If you’ve ever visited our shop and asked us what our favourite date in the Glastonbury event calendar was, you would have heard us proclaim – GLASTONBURY FROST FAYRE! No doubt with big smiles.

GLASTONBURY FROST FAYRE 2023
QUICK INFO

This year’s Glastonbury Frost Fayre will take place on Saturday the 25th of November 2023.

Starting from 12 noon (10am unofficially) and finishing at 6pm. P.S. vendors will be setting up from 8am onwards and car parks fill up fast, so get here early to make the most out of your day!

The centre of the town shuts down to traffic for the day from 8am onwards.

Imagine the centre of town closed to all vehicles and with the streets crammed with artisan stores, traders and entertainment. Not to mention the delightful aroma of roasted chestnuts and mulled wine, ciders and mead wafting about your nostrils. Essentially, Glastonbury Frost Fayre is a huge outdoor ‘Pagan’ Christmas Market. A place where you can find hidden gems nestled among the usual gift shops and eateries.

When Fiona and I first witnessed Glastonbury Frost Fayre we were in awe. The atmosphere was electric and the hustle and bustle of nearly twenty thousand people brought the town to life. Normally I wouldn’t be a fan of such crowds, but Frost Fayre is different. There’s always an air of joy and happiness that’s almost tangible. What I’m trying to say is don’t let the potential numbers put you off, it’s busy but tolerable.

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING AND ENTERTAINMENT

As well as the live music on stages placed at the four ends of town there are craft markets, art exhibitions and a whole manner of other activities dotted throughout. In fact, half the fun is exploring and finding new things tucked away in specially created rooms or areas.

If you’re hunting for Christmas presents, then you will be in “Heaven” for it’s the perfect place to find a unique gift for someone special.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GLASTONBURY FROST FAYRE 2023

If you’ve visited before, you will know that parking can be an issue. So, my advice is to get here early, find a parking spot and make a day of it.

Officially Glastonbury Frost Fayre starts at 12 noon but traders arrive earlier with the roads closing to traffic at 8am. You won’t be bored if you rock up before the official start time and you’ll be thanking me later for it, as I’ve seen ALL the car parks being filled before the event even started in the past! You’ve been warned! Learn more about Frost Fayre from the Glastonbury Town Council.

There is something for everyone to enjoy.

It may seem like I’m hyping Glastonbury Frost Fayre up, and you’d be right, I am. You know why? Because it truly is our favourite day of the year! No other day invokes such humanity and a feeling of shared joy, connection, and hope, especially after the last few years.

In the shop we have found it to be our best trading day not just in terms of footfall, but for the level of conversation and laughter shared amongst old and new friends.

Still undecided? Don’t just take my word for it, come along to the Glastonbury Frost Fayre on Saturday the 25th of November, and witness the magic for yourself. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed!

Finally, if you happen to be walking down Benedict Street to check out some of the hidden stalls in the St Benedict’s Church. Don’t forget to pop in and say “Hi!”, we’d be honoured to have you.

Don’t know where we’re based? Find a map to our shop on our Contact Us page, or drop us an email and we’d be happy to help you find your way. Alternatively, reserve yourself a tasty bottle of mead and come collect it on the day from the shop!
