On the frost-quiet night of December 21st, Gluggagægir – Window-Peeper, drifts down from the mountains of Iceland. Drawn to the glow of hearth and lamp, he presses his face upon windowpanes whilst watching the secret warmth of mortal homes with eerie, childlike curiosity.
Sometimes he slips inside to snatch whatever glimmers to him. Other times he simply observes, a silent spirit of winter mischief.
And when his night’s wandering is done, he leaves behind a small token in the shoes of well behaved children. Proof that even the most unsettling of spirits can carry a spark of gentle Yule magic.
