The Yule Lads playing cards have been created with artwork depicting the 13 Yule Lads of Christmas or The Icelandic Yule Lads.

Based on a tradition that still continues in Iceland today, children will leave a shoe on their windowsill where one of the 13 Yule Lads or Christmas Trolls will come and visit each night with a small gift, for 13 nights before Christmas. Their mother is called Grýla who is a giant troll with a huge black cat called Jólakötturinn, ‘Christmas/Yule Cat’ and their father is called Leppalúði.

• Gattathefur | Doorway-Sniffer
• Ketkrokur | Meat-Hook
• Kertasnikir | Candle-Stealer
