Pewter Stags Head Quaich
£45.00
This stunning pewter stags head quaich features two beautiful handles, each set with a purple glass gem between it’s antlers. Finely crafted pewter surrounds the glass bowl which has then been set on a pewter base with further knotwork detailing.
Made in the UK by highly skilled craftsmen, this quaich is ideal for any celebration. Great attention to detail has been given allowing this quaich to sit comfortably in your hands.
The quaich, originally thought to be carved from wood in Scotland, was used to make a toast, welcome a guest to your home with a wee dram of whisky or to bid them a safe journey when they left. Since the 17th century they have more broadly been used at christenings, weddings, funerals or generally anywhere that it requires a toast to the living or the dead. Similarities to the quaich are believed to be the Kuksa, carved by the Sami peoples of northern Scandinavia and still in use today.
Care instructions: DO NOT place in a dishwasher or microwave! Hand wash only. Dry with a soft, lint free cloth.
Pewter Stag Quaich Dimensions:
- Material: Pewter and glass.
- Size: 18cm x 11cm x 6cm
- Weight: 150g approx.
