Icelandic Yule Lads

The 13 Yule Lads are small, mischievous trolls from age-old Icelandic folklore. A different one visits each home for 1 night before Christmas Day, bringing gifts with him to leave in shoes left on windowsills, so long as the children were well behaved.
Each Yule Lad has a unique and descriptive name depending on the chaos they like to cause when they visit.
They are the sons of the giant troll, Gryla.
The Yule cat also belongs to Gryla. He roams around the countryside looking for naughty children. Those who don’t recieve new clothing on Christmas Day will be eaten by this giant black cat.
